Karen Whiting
Goodwill Industries

Karen loves all our individuals who we serve and you can see this love within just a few short minutes of observing the interaction Karen has with each individual. Karen has provided coverage in all 8 county work centers and has formed a bond with all individuals that is unbreakable! Everyone (staff and individuals alike) lovingly refer to Karen as “Grandma”. Karen always makes our individuals her number one priority and is always concerned for their well-being. Karen gets along with everyone, she treats everyone equal no matter what their background is. Karen has a heart of gold and will go above and beyond to help anyone in whatever way she can. There is just not enough time in the day to explain how amazing “Grandma” is and what a great asset she is to Goodwill and to all our individuals.

Karen has been with our Goodwill family for 21 years. Karen started her journey with Goodwill working in retail, long before Goodwill provided services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Karen worked in retail for 16 years before taking a floor trainer position with our Ross County Goodwill Work Center 5 years ago. Karen is a 61 year old mother of 2 sons, grandmother of 2 grandchildren with a 3rd one on the way. Karen loves kids, animals and our individuals who we serve. Karen is very easy going and loves to cheer up people.
