Also, please take a moment to read a message from our Superintendent, Leia Snyder, as she ushers in DD Awareness Month:

As Developmental Disabilities Awareness month, March provides us with the opportunity to recognize and celebrate people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and raise awareness in our community.

Our theme this year is “What’s Your Story?”  Stories are powerful.  They can make us laugh and give us comfort.  They can take us back to a vivid memory.  They can bring us to tears.  Perhaps most importantly, stories allow us to connect to others even if we don’t know them well.  This month, we want to ensure our community has the opportunity to learn more about the people we serve through their unique stories, so they can appreciate how we are all connected.

We have an action-packed month starting with our Art Reception this Thursday March 3rd, our Provider Fair on March 10th, and our Annual Awards Event on March 24th as well as other exciting events throughout the month designed to celebrate and raise awareness.  Please check our website at for event details and updates.

When people with disabilities have opportunities to be actively involved, they make valuable contributions and enrich our community.   We are fortunate to have incredible people who receive our services, a dedicated workforce, valuable partners, and a supportive community, and I’m looking forward to a fantastic March!  Please join us in celebrating Developmental Disabilities Awareness month.
