Teeing up for Charity

Last week, over 100 golfers took to the tees for Roosters Annual Charity Golf Event at JayCee’s golf course in Chillicothe. For the past 8 years, as the air starts to chill, golfers pack up their clubs and head to the links to have a good time and support great causes.  Over that time, more than $100,000 has been generated, proceeds from which have been donated to several non-profit organizations.

In past years, multiple golf events were held, one in Chillicothe and one in Circleville.  Pat McAllister, Steve Houseman, and Ed Steele, owners of several area Roosters franchises, recently consolidate their efforts, concentrating on a single event in Chillicothe. Event organizer Curt McAllister explained the shift as a desire to focus more on local charities, reflective of the desire to have the greatest impact on the local community.  This year, Roosters was able to donate a total of $7,000, split between the Pioneer Center and the Foundation for Fighting Blindness.
